Panther Lake Trail #1104
This trail provides alternative access for day hikes into the Snow Camp/Windy Valley area. The Panther Lake Trail joins the Snow Camp Trail #1103 within 0.2 mile of the junction for the Snow Camp Lookout Trail #1103A. For visitors to the Snow Camp Lookout, it provides day hike access to Panther Lake (a small seasonal lake). The Snow Camp / Windy Valley area provides botanic, geologic and scenic opportunities.
This trail is located in an area that has burned in the Biscuit (2002) and Chetco Bar Fires. Although Forest Service trail crews and partner groups have been repairing and maintaining many of the affected trails following the fires, visitors should take into consideration (because of the substantially increased risk of fire-killed snags falling) that travel and camping may be more difficult and require greater concern for safety.
