General Information

Directions:

Following Hwy 140 east from Medford: Summit Sno-park is located at milepoint 28.5 with parking for about 5-7 vehicles. Fish Lake Sno-park, at milepoint 30.5, has restrooms, parking for 35 vehicles, a picnic shelter, and is located near the Fish Lake Resort (cabins, cafe, store). Please note that access to the snowmobile trails from Fish Lake Sno-park is through the Campground. Please enter and exit only at the trailhead bulletin board and stay on the marked/groomed trail. By cooperating you will help protect young trees and vegetation planted in the campground.

Following the Dead Indian Memorial Road east from Ashland: Deadwood Sno-park is located at milepoint 22 with parking for 8-10 vehicles (sno-park permit required). There are no designated trails originating from Deadwood, but there are numerous Forest Service roads in the vicinity. Big Draw Sno-park, at milepoint 26, is an informal "pull-out" where a wide spot adjacent the road is occasionally plowed for parking (no permit required). The Hyatt Lake/Lake O'Woods snowmobile trail crosses the hwy here. Pederson Sno-park is located about 1/2 mile east of the Jackson/Klamath county line. Pederson is another informal sno-park (no permit required) with limited parking. The Pederson Snowmobile trail crosses the hwy just west of the sno-park. The Pacific Crest Trail crosses the hwy at the Pederson Sno-park also. It is designated and marked for nordic skiing from the sno-park north to the South Brown Mountain Shelter. Snowmobilers can reach the shelter via the Pederson and Hyatt/Lake O'Woods trails.
