The Big Tree Observation Site contains a number of giant conifer species, including the world’s largest Port-Orford cedar tree. The area also has a few picnic sites.

General Information
Directions:From Powers, OR: Travel south on County Road 90 to Forest Road 33, and then on to Forest Road 3358. Travel 4.4 miles up Forest Road 3358-090 to Big Tree Observation site and trailhead.
From Gold Beach, OR: Travel northeast on County Road 595 to Forest Road 33. Continue to milepost 57 at Elk Creek Falls Trailhead. The Big Tree Trail will intersect 0.05 mile up the Elk Creek Falls Trail.
From Glendale, OR: Travel west on Bureau of Land Management Road 32-9-3 to Forest Road 3348. Continue 12 miles on Forest Road 3348 to Forest Road 3358, and turn right onto Forest Road 3358. Travel for 11 miles to Forest Road 3358-090 at Big Tree Observation Site.
