Clear Creek Campground


Area Status: Open

Clear Creek Campground is a non-fee campground and picnic area composed of 12 individual units and reservations are not required. This area is accessible for a season that varies usually between June through October. Campground amenities include toilets and the campground is well suited for tent and RV camping. Sites are handicapped accessible. Bull Flat (#001) and Lake Fork (#004) trails are popular with horseback riders, and hikers.

Restrictions: Occupancy: The following act is prohibited within the Minidoka Ranger District: Pursuant to 36 CFR 262.58 (a), camping in any area including a developed recreation site or an undeveloped/dispersed recreation site for more than 14 (fourteen) days in a 28 (twenty-eight) day period.  A camper or a group of persons camping together must move off of National Forest lands within the Minidoka Ranger District for a minimum of 14 days after camping for 14 days.  Campers who remain longer than 14 consecutive days and/or camp more than 14 days within a 28 day period may receive violation notices and fines under the authority described under Special Order Number: 0414-01-028. No Horses are allowed in the campground.  Limit 2 vehicles (autos) per site.  Vehicles must be parked on gravel spurs provided. Do not park on the road; do not block traffic.

Campground Camping

Day Hiking

The Bull Flat Trail (#001) is five miles in length. The trailhead is located at Clear Creek Campground and goes to the top of the mountain with a branch trail going to Bull Lake. The trail is used by motorcycle's as well as horseback riders and hikers. The Bull Flat Trail is quite steep with a significant elevation gain, however, the scenery, including vistas of the Great Salt lake and Salt Flats to the south, Sawtooth mountain range to the north, and Nevada to the southwest, make the trek worth the effort. The Lake Fork Trail (#004) is 3 miles in length. The trailhead is located at Clear Creek Campground and goes up to Bull Lake. The trail is rocky and steep and heavy timber is found along most of the trail. This trail is popular with horseback riders, hikers and motorcycles.
 

Backpacking
