Mormon Bend Campground


Area Status: Open

Mormon Bend Campground is composed of 15 campsites including 1 double-site bordering the Salmon River. All sites are first-come, first-serve. It is situated in a lodgepole pine forest along with sagebrush and some open meadows. Visitors can fish for trout and steelhead in the Salmon River and surrounding creeks. This campground is opened early in the season to accommodate steelhead fishermen. A designated put-in for float boaters is located within the campground.

Restrictions: Pets must be on a leash. All occupancy (includes developed/dispersed camping, boats, boat trailers, travel trailers, tents, etc): Occupancy limit is 10 days in a 30 day period within a 30 mile radius for all of SNRA. Campers must occupy the site the first night and cannot go more than 24 hours thereafter without occupying the site. Motorized vehicles and bicycles are not permitted in any of the designated wilderness areas.

Directions:

 From Stanley, go 8 miles northeast on ID 75.  Turn right into the campground.
