Sample Meadow Campground


Located near the Kaiser and Ansel Adams Wilderness', Sample Meadow Campground offers 16 campsites located along Kaiser Creek. Vault toilets are provided and each site has a picnic table, fire ring, and bear box. There is trailhead parking outside of campground approximately .5 mile for hikes into the wilderness. Large RV's and motorhomes not recommended. Horse camping is permitted. Water and garbage service not provided.

General Information


From Hwy 168 in Huntington Lake, turn right on Kaiser Pass Road (Forest Road 5S80), travel 9.7 miles, take left on road 7S05 and travel 3 miles to the campground.

General Notes:

Water not provided at campground. Nearest services (gas, groceries, supplies, etc.) are located at Huntington Lake, approximately 13 miles before campground.

This is Bear Country. Bear boxes available, please store food properly.  Don't feed the bears. This is a "Pack it in, pack it out" facility.  Please take your garbage with you when you leave.



Trailhead parking outside of campground approximately 1/2 mile, for hikes into Kaiser and Ansel Adams Wilderness areas.
