Umpqua Dunes Area

Wind sculpted and rippled expanse of dunes

This area provides the easiest beach access in the Oregon Dunes for beach walking and ocean viewing.  This stretch of beach is closed to off-highway vehicle (OHV) use.

The most popular OHV destination at the Oregon Dunes, the Umpqua dunes area has two large OHV day use staging areas, dispersed sand camping access, and is adjacent to large OHV developed facilities managed by Douglas County Parks.

Please see OHV Rules for Riding before heading out.

Photo of Eel Creek Campground

The Eel Creek area, just west of Highway 101, is separate from the OHV areas.

Eel Creek is the location of a popular trailhead and campground adjacent to the area's largest and most expansive dunes.
