Umpqua Beach #3 Day Use /OHV Staging Area


Area Status: Temporarily Closed

Located south of Winchester Bay, OR, this area is home to the tallest sand dunes in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Umpqua Beach #3 Day Use and OHV Staging Area provides parking and access for pedestrian beach access as well as off-highway vehicle (OHV) staging for open sand riding opportunities in the Umpqua dunes. A ride to the top of a tall dune offers spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. The beach provides miles of walking and is closed to OHV travel year-round.

Current Conditions: 3/25/24: Due to high water, this recreation area is closed. There is potential for other recreation areas to be impacted by high water. Before heading to the ODNRA, please give our front desk a call for the most updated information about site closures at 541-271-6000. Do not attempt to drive through standing water as it could be deeper than it appears. Snowy Plover restrictions in place March 15 - September 15.

Directions:

Umpqua Beach #3 Day Use / OHV Staging Area is located at the end of Salmon Harbor Drive near Winchester Bay, OR. From Highway 101 at Winchester Bay, turn west at Salmon Harbor Drive and follow it to the end of the road.
