Campgrounds - Highway 120 Corridor


Situated in the Central Sierra Nevada Mountains, the Groveland Ranger District offers many beautiful sites for camping in a variety of settings. The Groveland Ranger District manages eight campgrounds within the Highway 120 Corridor between the historic town of Groveland and Yosemite National Park.

All campgrounds offer vault toilets, tables, grills and fire rings. Large motor homes and trailers cannot be accommodated in some campgrounds, and electric and sewer hookups are not available.

Operational Hours: The following campgrounds are typically open year-round:
  • Lumsden Campground (currently closed due to storm damage)
  • Lumsden Bridge Campground (currently closed due to storm damage)
  • The Pines Campground
  •  South Fork Campground (currently closed due to storm damage) 
American Land & Leisure operates the following campgrounds which are generally open May through September, weather permitting:
  • Cherry Valley Campground
  • Dimond O Campground
  • Lost Claim Campground
  • Sweetwater Campground

Fees: American Land & Leisure operates the following campgrounds under a special use permit and charges the following fees:
  • Cherry Valley Campground: $29 single site, $58 double site
  • Dimond O Campground: $33 single site, $66 double site
  • Lost Claim Campground: $25 single site
  • The Pines Campground: $25 single site, $90 group site
  • Sweetwater Campground: $29 single site
American Land & Leisure operates these campgrounds under a special use permit administered by the Forest Service. The fees paid by concessionairs finance the refurbishment of facilities in the campgrounds they operate.
Restrictions: Camp in designated sites only. The number of people allowed in a single campsite is six. Campfire permits are not required in developed campgrounds. Do not burn plastic or metal. Please leave the area in as good (or better) condition than you found it. Often, locations detroyed by thoughtless campers must be closed to restore the area's natural health. Help ensure your favorite area remains open.

Additionally, Crane Flat Station in Yosemite National Park has gas and a convenience store.
Water: Available at Cherry Valley, Dimond O, Lost Claim, The Pines (summer only), Sweetwater Campgrounds
Restroom: All campgrounds have vault toilets.
