Lost Claim Campground
Area Status: Closed
Lost Claim Campground is a rustic campground located on a mixed conifer forested site adjacent to Highway 120. Each site has a picnic table, bear box, and a campfire pit with a grill. Vaulted toilets, potable water at pump.
CAUTION - BURNED AREA
Please use caution while in the Rim Fire Burned Area. Potential hazards include loose and falling rocks, flash floods, and debris flows. Trees may have been weakened from fire damage and ongoing drought and may fall at any time. Stay on designated roads and trails and within opened areas. Be alert for falling objects and do not linger around large trees.
Avoid the area during high winds or heavy rain.

Restrictions: | Not recommended for trailers or RVs. Camp in designated sites only. The number of people allowed in a single campsite is 6. The maximum length of stay in any campground is 14 days. Campfire permits are not required in developed campgrounds. Do not burn plastic or metal. Please leave the area in as good (or better) condition than you found it. Often, locations destroyed by thoughtless campers must be closed to restore the area's natural health. Help ensure your favorite area remains open. |

Campground Camping
Tent campground, RV's are discouraged from entering campground due to rough road.
Day Hiking
Campers can hike down to the Tuolumne Wild & Scenic River (area is unavailable) on the gated Forest Route 1S23 located just west of the campground near the Buck Meadows Station.
