Deadman Campground is situated along the banks of the Stanislaus River, one mile from Highway 108 on the Kennedy Meadow Road. It is about 29 miles east of the Summit Ranger Station. There are a total of 17 camping sites; two walk-in sites. The main road is paved and parking pads are dirt-surfaced. Restrooms are vault toilets. Water is piped to hydrants serving multiple sites. A fee is charged for extra vehicle parking.

Operational Hours: Deadman Campground is open May through September, weather permitting.
Reservations: First come, first served. No reservations may be made for Deadman Campground. 
Fees NEW for 2016 - Kennedy Meadows Resort and Pack Station operate Deadman Campground and charge the following fees:
  • $20.00 for a single-family site
  • $40 for a double site
Kennedy Meadows Resort operates this campground under a special use permit administered by the Forest Service. The fees paid by concessionaires finance the refurbishment of facilities in the campgrounds they operate. The Interagency Access Pass and Interagency Senior Pass are honored for single-family sites only.  Passes are not accepted for double sites.
Open Season: April 28, 2016 - Oct 10, 2016
Restrictions: Camp in designated sites only. The number of people allowed in a single campsite is six. The maximum length of stay in any campground is 14 days. Campfire permits are not required in developed campgrounds. Do not burn plastic or metal. Please leave the area in as good (or better) condition than you found it. Often, locations destroyed by thoughtless campers must be closed to restore the area's natural health. Help ensure your favorite area remains open.

Water: Potable water is available at faucets throughout campground. Filling of RVs is prohibited.
Restroom: Vault toilets are available in the campground. No RV dump station available.
