Boating - Motorized
Meadow Lake is operated by PG&E. Water levels may vary as flows are released from this reservoir. There is one small, informal boat launch area for this reservoir. There is no marina or re-fueling services at this lake. Summer temperatures can reach in the mid-80's with nighttime lows dropping into the 40's. It is not unusual for strong, afternoon winds to blow up on the lake making navigation difficult for small vessels and kayaks.
Snowmobiling
For those that want to travel by snowmobile to Meadow Lake, allow at least for a 4 hour ride. Most users start the route on the East side of the lake. The West side of the lake can be very challenging and not recommended for the beginner if the trail is not groomed. This route provides outstanding views of Fordyce Lake, Signal Peak and views of the Sierras.
