Area Status: Closed
The Upper Little Truckee Campground is located on Highway 89, about 12 miles north of Truckee. The campground is situated on the banks of the Little Truckee River, at an elevation of 6,200 feet. A forest of lodgepole pine, aspen and juniper covers the area, offering partial shade. A few sites overlook the river. Fishing for rainbow and brown trout is a popular activity. The surrounding area offers hiking and biking trails.

||Bears frequent the area; all food must be kept in approved containers. Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfire and charcoal fires may not be allowed. Camping outside designated campsites is prohibited in this area.
