Logger Campground sits on Stampede Reservoir on the Tahoe National Forest, 30 minutes from Truckee, Calif. This large campground offers over 240 single, double and triple-family sites. Sites are in a sage and pine forest on small hills above Stampede Reservoir. All sites are within walking distance to the reservoir. Picnic tables, campfire rings and grills are provided, along with accessible vault toilets and drinking water.Firewood is available for purchase from the host. Roads within campground are paved. The Camp Store is located within the campground. A variety of camping and fishing supplies, ice, groceries and souvenirs are available. Boat ramp adjacent to campground. Boat trailer parking available. Fee for boat ramp use, Friday through Sunday. Dump station adjacent to campground.

OFF-SEASON CAMPING INFORMATION:Double Bit Loop at the west entrance to Logger Campground is available for self-contained camping with no services in the off-season if snow level and road conditions allow access. No reservations in the off season – first come, first served. No trash services. Pack it in. Pack it out.

Boating, water skiing, swimming and fishing are popular activities on the reservoir. Anglers will find rainbow and brown trout and kokanee salmon. The Little Truckee River is nearby and offers some of Northern California's best fly-fishing. Special restrictions apply.

Many miles of hiking/biking and off-road vehicle trails crisscross the surrounding area. Very popular Commemorative Overland Emigrant bike riding/hiking trail can be accessed by riding from campground.This trail stretches over 15 miles to the west, ending near Donner Picnic area where you can take a short walk on the interpretative trail learning about the trials of the early pioneers. This trail can be very busy on weekends.

OHV Trail Access: Non-street legal OHVs must be trailered from the campground to the OHV trails.

No camping or campfires allowed outside of developed campgrounds.

Current Conditions: ALERT !<span style="display: none"> </span> <span style="display: none"> </span>As of 06/26/14, water level at Stampede reservoir is low.  Due to severe drought conditions several of our boat launching facilities may not be operable this year due to low water levels. Currently at Boca, Stampede, and Prosser the paved ramps are exposed above the water level. It is still possible to launch using a four wheel drive vehicle, but be prepared to back into the mud. Courtesy docks were not placed in the water this year due to low water levels.
