Skillman Horse Campground is located along Hwy 20. Campground has corrals, hitching posts, and horse troughs available under large pines and cedars. Pioneer Trail accesses this campground and is popular among equestrians.

As of July 20, 2015 there is no potable water in the campground. Horse water is available, but must be boiled before used for human consumption. There is potable water available at the White Cloud Campground, about 4 miles west on Highway 20.
As of 7/31/15 the trails and forest area around White Cloud campground south of Highway 20 are under a closure due to the Lowell Fire. The campground is still open. For more information see the Forest Order.

No Potable Water
From Nevada City: Drive 14 miles east on Hwy 20 toward Truckee. Turn right into Skillman and make a left at the first road to reach the campground.
From I-80: Take Hwy 20 exit and drive 12 miles west toward Nevada City. Turn left into Skillman, make a left at the first road to reach the campground.
