Cottonwood Creek Campground
The campground sits along Cottonwood Creek, in a stand of Jeffrey pine and red and white fir trees. The forest provides shade and privacy between sites, but noise from the highway can be heard within the campground. Cottonwood Creek Campground offers several single-family campsites, each equipped with a picnic table, campfire ring, and trash collection is provided.

Bears frequent the area; all food must be stored in approved containers. |

From Truckee: Travel north on Interstate 80 to Highway 89 approximately 20 miles.

Recreation areas with activity River and Stream Fishing:A small number of rainbow trout inhabit limited reaches of this creek. There is a low seasonal flow of water by late summer. Anglers that follow the fisherman's trail may find some nice spots to try their luck off the beaten path.

Recreation areas with activity Day Hiking:The Cottonwood Creek Botanical Trail is a 1/2 mile trail that identifies common trees and plants identified using a brochure and the numbered trail markers. This is an easy, family friendly trail that everyone can enjoy. Additional brochures for this trail are available from the Sierraville Ranger District.
