Blue Lake Shelter

  

This is a simple style 10' X 10' A-Frame design shelter that was built in 2003. It has sleeping space for 3 to 4 people. There is a spectacular panoramic view of the surrounding alpine and mountains, as well as Blue Lake from the shelter. Please be aware of the weather when in this high alpine environment. Conditions can change rapidly. Be prepared for wind, rain, snow, fog, or any type of harsh unseasonal weather. FACILITIES: • Three Single Bunks

General Information

Directions: The shelter is situated in a high alpine setting. It is accessible by hiking 5 miles up the Deer Mountain National Recreation Trail from the trailhead parking area, or approximately 6 miles from downtown Ketchikan. Refer to: USGS map Ketchikan B-5.
