Square Lake Cabin

This isolated lake is about 1 mile long and 1/3 mile wide. The surrounding terrain is flat and marshy, and forested with spruce and willow trees. There are many stream drainage's in the area. Local wildlife include moose, brown bear, waterfowl, otter, beaver, and trout. The cabin is equipped with wooden bunks, table, benches, oil stove for heat, and an outhouse. It does not have mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring sleeping bags and pads, cook stove, cooking gear, and food. Users must bring #1 stove oil for heat. A floatplane charter may not be available out of Yakutat. Check before renting the cabin.

General Information

Directions: This cabin is great for duck hunting and cutthroat trout, but it is difficult to access. You may get there with float plane or canoe.
