Boating - Motorized
There are two aluminum flat-bottomed skiffs at this cabin. The access here is by float plane, so if there is room, it's possible to bring an outboard for the skiff. A 20 hp or 25 hp outboard is a good size, though a 10 hp will also work. The 10 hp probably won't get the boat on step with more than two people and light gear in the boat.Trailer Parking | This is a fly-in or hike-in only location with no trailer parking available. |
Class of rapids | No rapids on the lake, but white water conditions can occur with high winds. |
Type of Craft | 14' aluminum flat-bottomed boat with oars. |
Motor Type | 10 hp to 25 hp outboard. |
Fuel availability | Fuel must be transported in at the time of traveling to the cabin. |
Difficulty Level: | Intermediate |

If hiking in without hauling an outboard for the boats, they can still be rowed with the oars provided at the cabin.Trailer Parking | This is a hike in or fly in cabin and so there is no need for trailers, unless boating to the saltwater beach in Taku Inlet and hiking in on the trail to the cabin. Trailer parking for the salt water portion of the trip is available at the Douglas harbor. |
