This is a 16' x 20' three-room Pan-Abode log cabin that was constructed in 1978. This cabin is located in the old-growth Sitka spruce and western hemlock rainforest and is adjacent to a large saltwater tide flat. The area is especially noted for crab, salmon, halibut, and red snapper. Directions: The cabin is located behind Forss Island on the west shore of Helm Bay, about 24 miles from Ketchikan. It is accessible by floatplane or by boat. There is a state-maintained floating dock off shore near the cabin.
