Day Hiking

One of three trails of the Starrigavan Recreation Area. Intertwine this trail with the Forest and Muskeg Trail, the Mosquito Cove Trail or the pedestrian walkway along Halibut Point Road for a series of varied length loop trails. The ΒΌ mile Estuary Life Trail is an elevated boardwalk that includes a covered Starrigavan Bird Viewing Shelter, then follows and interprets the dynamics of the Starrigavan estuary. Follow the boardwalk over small streams as the trail weaves in and out of tree clusters. Benches are provided at the six interpretive stations. Trail ends at the footbridge over Starrigavan Creek. Access the Forest and Muskeg Trail a short distance from this trail endpoint or walk Nelson Logging Road to connect with the pedestrian walkway along Halibut Point Road to the Mosquito Cove Trail.
