Located within the Stikine-LeConte Wilderness, the Mount Rynda Cabin is a 16' x 16' A-frame cabin with sleeping loft and partially covered front porch. Amenities include 2 single bunks (1 w/ trundle), a wooden table and benches, and oil space heater. The heater requires #1 stove oil only, which is NOT provided. Bring stove oil, bedding, cook stove, lanterns and utensils. Wilderness restrictions apply.

General Information

Directions: The cabin is located south of the main channel of the Stikine River, at the confluence of Andrews Creek and Andrews Slough. Access is by shallow draft boat NE from Wrangell and 18 miles up the Stikine River.

Reservation Info This site can be reserved by calling Toll Free 1-877-444-6777 (International 518-885-3639 or TDD 877-833-6777) or on-line at www.recreation.gov. Cabin reservations run from noon to noon (check in-check out time).

River and Stream Fishing

Excellent fishing opportunities in clear water Andrews Creek in front of cabin. King, pink, and silver salmon, Dolly Varden, Cutthroat trout. Refer to Alaska Department of Fish and Game for regulations.  regarding fishing on the Stikine River.

Big Game Hunting

Moose, black and brown bear during designated seasons. Refer to Alaska Department of Fish and Game for regulations.

Boating - Motorized

Cabin is inaccessible by boat during times of low river levels.

Boating - Non-Motorized

This cabin is a popular stop for paddlers floating the Stikine River. Two (2) miles of slow moving clear water near cabin provide excellent opportunities for canoeing or kayaking up Andrew Creek at river levels over 14 feet.
