Frazier Horse Camp

Several miles of hiking and horse riding trails are accessible from the site. Horses are allowed at this site, and can be ridden south on the Cottonwood Canyon Trail to access the Arizona Trail. There are 11 camp units w/ shade ramadas, fire rings w/ grills, picnic tables, potable water hydrants and a toilet building.

Fees: Reservations are required. $16/site/night for individual camp unit; America the Beautiful Interagency Senior or Access Pass holders receive 50% discount (persons over 62 or have a permanent disability) for single camp units only.  Reserve through Recreation.gov.

General Information

Directions:

This site is 2 miles southeast of historic Roosevelt Dam. From Mesa: Take State Route (SR) 87 (Beeline Highway) north for about 60 miles to its junction with SR 188. Turn right onto SR 188 for 35 miles to the site. The entire route is paved.

From the Globe area: Take SR 188 north for 28 miles to the site. The entire route is paved.

Activities

Campground Camping

  • 11 units w/ shade ramadas, fire rings & grills, picnic tables, potable water hydrants and toilet building
  • Maximum occupancy per individual camp unit is 10.
  • Maximum number of vehicles per individual camp unit is three.  All vehicles must completely fit within the designated parking area.
  • Check-in time is 12:00 pm, and check-out time is 10:00 am
