Houston Mesa Equestrian Camp

Houston Mesa Loop Trail is a nine-mile round trip through a pinyon and juniper woodland and can be accessed from the Horse Camp. There are 30 family sites and 2 group sites all w/ tables & grills, also available are corrals.

Open Season: 1 February - 30 November
Restrictions: Stay limit 14 days, only horse trailers under 40'. Ten people maximum in family units. Reservations not required for family units but recommended for holidays. Group site Fox #2 has a 24’ X 48’ Ramada. Fees: $125.00/per group/per night w/electric. No RV hook-ups available at the campground.

General Information


This site is located two miles north of Payson at the junction of State Hwy. 87 and Houston Mesa Road (FR199). Turn east on Houston Mesa Rd. and travel ¼ mile. The Horse camp is located on the south side of the road; Houston Mesa Campground is located on the north side of the road.
