Pit Lake Trail #1446

The trail provides access to a non-natural lake in an old rock pit which is stocked with trout. The shallow lake is nestled in a pleasant, forest setting. The trail is an easy 0.3-mile hike. Poole Creek Campground is about three miles north on Forest Road 2610 and offers 59 campsites near Lemolo Lake.

Directions:

From Roseburg, OR, turn onto OR-138 east / northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard. Continue on OR-138 until you reach milepost 72 and turn north onto Forest Road 2610 (Bird Point Road). Proceed 0.5 miles to Forest Service Road 2610-100. Follow the road as far as the gate -- this is where the trailhead begins.
