Across from the trailhead is the Illahee Flat gazebo, which was constructed in the 1920s as a recreational building for an early guard station in the area. The gazebo was restored to its original condition in 1993.
This trail descends from Illahee Flat to the Jessie Wright Segment of the North Umpqua Trail. Visitors will have an opportunity to pass through old-growth forests and open meadows, which serve as habitat for a wide variety of wildlife.
