Stansbury Crest Trail


USGS Quad: Timpie Southeast, Deseret Peak Northeast and Deseret Peak Northwest. Leashed pets are permitted. This trail is located in the Stansbury Mountains and has trail junctions for Mining Fork, Dry Lake, Antelope Canyon, Indian Hickman, Mill Fork and Spring Canyon. The Stansbury Crest Trail offers views of Skull Valley, Tooele Valley, Rush Valley, and the Great Salt Lake. This route has been maintained as a primitive trail.

General Information

Directions: Access #1: Via North Willow Canyon Road. From Salt Lake City head west on I-80 and exit at Stansbury-Tooele exit. Follow the signs to Grantsville. From Grantsville head south on Cooley Street for about 4 miles to the North Willow Canyon Road. Follow North Willow Canyon Road about 7 miles. The trail begins about 0.1 mile from the end of the road on the north side of the road. Access #2: Via Mining Fork Road to Mining Fork trailhead. Junction with Deseret Peak Trail is about 1 mile along Mining Fork Trail. Access #3: Via South Willow Canyon from trailhead located at the end of Loop Campground. About 2 miles to junction with Deseret Peak Trail. Access #4: Via Skull Valley road on the west side of the Stansbury Mountains to the Pass Canyon road to the Spring Canyon trailhead. About 3 1/2 miles to junction with Deseret Peak.
