The Loafer Mountain Trail begins by wandering through the tall pines and crosses a small stream. Shortly after this it intersects the Blackhawk Trail. Stay to the left. The trail continues on through the trees for about another mile where it meets the Bennie Creek Trail. From this point the trail becomes more challenging. A large section of the trail has been re-routed with switch backs to make a less steep hike, and stop erosion. Please take the new trail and stay on it (don't cut the switch back corners). In the next 5 miles it gains almost 2,100 feet. The view is definitely rewarding!
For more information contact the Spanish Fork Ranger District at 801-798-3571.
