Willow Canyon Trail #118

The trail is one of the steepest trails in the area, but the view from the top is rewarding for those who endure to the end!  The trail begins to climb immediately at the trailhead.  The lower mile of the trail is very steep and somewhat narrow in places.  This lower section passes through thick conifer and some aspen.  Eventually the trail levels out somewhat and passes through some clearings.  After these clearings, the trail cuts back to the north, climbing steadily to the top of the ridge.  As the elevation increases, the trees become more scattered; however, there are occasional areas of thick conifer.  The trail ends on top of the ridge where it connects with Mount Nebo Trail #116.  From this point it is approximately 1 1/2 miles to the south summit of Mount Nebo and 1/2 mile down the other side of the ridge to Nebo Bench Trail #117.  Be prepared for cold and inclement weather which can occur at these altitudes at any time, even in mid-summer.
