Sawpit Saddle Viewpoint
Looking down off the ridgetop from the Sawpit Saddle Viewpoint visitors can see the Wild and Scenic Snake River and look across into Oregon and down at Temperance Creek. This minimally developed facility is located along rough roads not recommended for passenger cars or vehicles with low clearance.

General Information
Directions:From Riggins, Idaho travel north on Highway 95 for 1.5 miles fto Forest Road 241 (Race Creek Road); Travel up Race Creek Road for 3 miles to Bean Creek Road Junction keep right and stay on Forest Road 241 for 9 more miles to junction with Forest Road 420 (Iron Phone Junction); At Forest Road 420 junction turn right and go 130 feet taking an immediate left on Forest Road 2060 and into the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area; Travel about 7.2 miles on Forest Road 2060 to Forest Road 2060A; Turn right on Forest Road 2060A and go 2 miles down to the viewpoint; Views into the canyon can be found by walking or driving out towards the canyon ridgetop.
Advisory: Many of these roads are narrow, steep and winding and are suitable for high clearance and 4x4 vehicles only.
