Leith Run Recreation Area

This multi-purpose development on the banks of the Ohio River is a popular attraction on the Wayne National Forest. This fully accessible facility offers a variety of recreation activities. For a downloadable brochure of the recreation area (prints on 8.5 x 14 inch paper) click here.

There are now several no-mow zones and plantings of native shrubs to increase bird habitat and make the landscape more sustainable.

At a Glance

Operational Hours: The campground is open 24-hours a day. The day use area is open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.  
Reservations: Make reservations by calling 1-877-444-6777 (TDD 1-877-833-6777) or http://www.recreation.gov. Check for when reservations begin and end. Openings before and after reservation dates are on a first come-first-serve basis.
Fees Normal fee rates:  $21/night for electric sites and $15/night for tent sites (no electricity). Senior Pass or Golden Age and Access Pass or Golden Access Passports allow a 50 percent discount. Group Shelters are $55 per day. There is no discount for Interagency passes or Golden passports given on shelter rentals. NRRS charges a $10 reservation fee ($9 if reservation is made online) and a $10 service charge for cancellation of reservations.

Information Center: The campground will close October 17, 2016 so the last night anyone can stay is October 16 (check out by noon on October 17). In 2017, the campground opens April 14, 2017.  The campground will close on Monday, October 16. The last night to camp would be Sunday, October 15, 2017.

Several RV sites are provided. Sites # 2, #5 and #17 are 50 amp. sites; the remaining sites are 30 amp.
