With 64 sites, Cove Creek Campground is the largest National Forest Campground on Detroit Lake. The campground offers single and double-family campsites, as well as an accessible group site for up to 70 people. Accessible flush toilets, drinking water and coin-operated showers are available at Cove Creek. Cove Creek Group Campground comes with a sheltered eating area.

The Stahlman Point Trail is located 1/4 mile from entrance road and offers some great views of Detroit Lake and Mount Jefferson.

Current Conditions: Detroit Ranger District: Campground CLOSED for the season. Boat launches and docks have been pulled out of the water at Cove Creek, Hoover, and South Shore due to low water levels. You may launch your boat from Mongold State Park. Boats can be moored along the shoreline and accessed from the campgrounds.

  • Check-in time is 2:00 pm or later. Check-out time is 1:00 pm.
  • Campsite must be occupied every night paid.
  • Single Campsites - $22 per night
  • Multiple Campsites - $40 per night*
  • Extra Vehicles - $7 per vehicle, per night
  • *Multiple Campsites have two tables*
  • Day Use - $7 per vehicle, per day

General Information

Directions:

From Detroit, Oregon, travel east on State Highway 22 for 2.7 miles to Blowout Road (FSR10).

From Idanha, Oregon, travel west on State Highway 22 for 0.7 miles to Blowout Road (FSR10).

Proceed on Blowout Road 3.6 miles to Cove Creek Campground on the right.
