Slide Creek Day Use Area


Area Status: Open

Slide Creek boat ramp and swim area is located in the Slide Creek Campground on the east side of Cougar Reservoir. This area attracts hundreds of fishermen, boaters, swimmers and water skiers from early spring until fall.

General Information

Directions:

From Blue River, OR, travel 4 miles east on Highway 126 to Aufderheide Drive (Forest Road 19).

Proceed south on Aufderheide Drive, turning right at the Y and climbing to the top of Cougar Reservoir.  

Continue south on Aufderheide Drive for 8 miles to Forest Road 500.

Turn left on Forest Road 500 and continue north for 1.5 miles to Slide Creek Campground and Day Use Area.


General Notes:
  • The Day Use Area has two sites with tables and steel fire rings, paved swim pad, paved boat ramp, changing room and ample parking. The swim slab is buoy-marked for swimmer safety.
  • 800 foot walk to drinking water, garbage service
