Piety Island Campground

Piety Island Campground is located on Detroit Lake with easy boat-in access from the northeast side of the island. In the winter, depending on water levels and weather conditions sites are available on a walk-in basis. All of the campsites offer great views of Detroit Lake. Come watch the 4th of July fireworks display each year, or take a short but challenging hike to the top of Piety Knob.

Reservations: No advance reservations. All sites are first come first serve.

  • Single Campsites - $12 per night
  • Multiple Campsites - $22 per night
  • For each additional vehicle - $6 per night

  • Camping is not allowed more than 14 days in a 60 day period.
  • Check-in time: 2:00 pm or later. Check-out time: 1:00 pm 
  • Use of chainsaws in the campground is prohibited
  • Dogs MUST be on leash at all times within the campground
  • Please do not tie boats up to live vegetation

Parking:

Be aware that day use or parking fees are specific to the particular place you leave you vehicle. Different sites have different fees.

Parking and/or day use fees do not apply towards your camping fee at Piety Island.


Directions:

Located in the middle of the North portion of Detroit Lake

Travel by boat from Mongold State Park, Detroit Lake State Park, Detroit Marina, Kanes Marina, Detroit Flats, Hoover CampgroundCove Creek Campground, or Southshore Campground

Access to the campground is from the north side of the island.

The closest boat ramp is at Cove Creek Campground, but parking may be limited.
