Trailhead is located 1/4 mile north of the junction of State Routes 44 and 89. The community of Old Station is located 1/2 mile south of the trailhead.
In addition to the restrooms and water, picnic tables are available for use making this trail an excellent place to stop for a picnic lunch.

Rough surfaces and cool temperatures exist in the tube, sturdy shoes and jackets are recommended.
Plenty of parking, tight turn around for RVs and buses.

There are plenty of dayhiking opportunities. You can enjoy a walk along Hat Creek on the Fisherman's Access Trail just across the highway at Cave Campground or explore the origin of the lava flow at the Spatter Cones Nature Trail only 1.5 miles south on Highway 44/89.
