Welcome to the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest!

The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest covers more than 1.5 million acres of Wisconsin's Northwoods. The Chequamegon side of the forest covers about 858,400 acres in Ashland, Bayfield, Sawyer, Price, Taylor and Vilas counties while the Nicolet side covers nearly 661,400 acres in Florence, Forest, Langlade, Oconto, Oneida and Vilas counties. Chequamegon-Nicolet NF Land and Resource Management Plan Monitoring Report

Completed in January 2012, this report summarizes the land management activities of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest from 2009 and 2010 and discusses the accomplishments in the context of the 2004 Land and Resource Management Plan.  The report includes detailed information about timber; wildlife; water, soil, and air quality; recreation; travel management; and budget.
