Breckenridge Ski Resort Peak 6 Development Project

Forest Supervisor Scott Fitzwilliams signed a Record of Decision August 15, 2012, selecting Alternative 2 (Proposed Action) as analyzed in the Breckenridge Ski Resort Peak 6 Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS). The Selected Alternative would add approximately 550 acres of skiable terrain (407 acres lift-served, 143 acres hike-to), a new lower lift and upper lift to access the terrain, a restroom facility and ski patrol/warming hut. With the development of the lifts and associated terrain, the comfortable carrying capacity at the resort would increase from 14,920 to 16,170 guests. A Forest Plan Amendment was approved to amend Canada lynx standard ALL S1. The decision is subject to appeal pursuant to 36 CFR 215. Individuals or organizations who submitted comments or otherwise expressed interest during the comment period may appeal this decision. Instructions for filing an appeal are detailed in the Record of Decision.
