Campground Concessionaire Permits

An Environmental Assessment has been prepared to determine whether to add 28 developed sites, including campgrounds and day-use areas, to a special use permit for concessionaire management. These sites are currently managed by the Forest Service with help of volunteers at some sites, and fees are charged at all of the sites. The proposed action for this project was modified to include only sites that have not previously been under a concessionaire permit. Sites that have been under a concessionaire permit are being considered under a separate categorical exclusion. In order to determine whether there was interest in adding new sites to the concessionaire permit, a prospectus was advertised prior to completing the environmental analysis. The environmental assessment will be completed prior to including the new sites in a long term permit. In the interim, issuing a temporary permit for the new sites will be considered under a separate categorical exclusion.
