To improve wildlife habitat, conduct approximately 200 acres of noncommercial thinning in stands that are 20 to 25 years old, and/or create snags in stands that are 60 to 80 years old. Mechanical methods will be used.
On Cheat Mountain. The majority of stands treated would be in smaller tributaries to Shavers Fork (e.g., Stonecoal, Whitmeadow, and Red Runs), and tributary to Tygart Valley (e.g. McGee Run).
