Moving the area toward a more resilient landscape, providing a diversity of habitats, and reducing hazardous fuels. Approximately 14,745 acres of commercial thinning, for a total of 22,000 acres proposed for thinning, mowing, and/or underburning. The West Bend planning area (25,700 acres) is bounded on the east by the urban interface of Bend, Oregon and on the west by the Bend Watershed Roadless Area.
