Special Uses - US Pro Cycle Race

The proposed special use authorization is for the bicycle race organizers to make temporary use of NFS lands on 7 National Forests within Colorado for ancillary facilities such as portable toilets, signs, barricades, message boards. This temporary use would be on NFS lands adjacent to or along state highways that comprise the Pro Cycling Challenge bicycle race. The race will start on August 20, 2012 in Durango, CO and finish on August 26, 2012 in Denver, CO. Temporary facilities may only be on NFS lands for several days before and after the race. The purpose of these facilities is to provide for added public safety and to better protect environmental resources along the race route.
