Home of Smokey Bear - The world-famous Smokey Bear began as an animated symbol and in 1950 became a real symbol when a tiny, burned and frightened bear cub was rescued clinging to a tree in the Capitan Mountains on the Lincoln National Forest.  Click the link above for more information.
