Wildlife Conservation Strategy

Wildlife Consv. Lazuli Bunting

The Forest has amended its Forest Plan to incorporate a Wildlife Conservation Strategy for the forested biological community. The decision is documented in a Record of Decision (ROD).  Appeals of the Boise NF ROD can be mailed to the street address provided in the ROD, e-mailed to appeals-intermtn-regional-office@fs.fed.us, or faxed to (801) 625-5277. Refer to the ROD for the items to be included in an appeal.

The environmental effects of the Forest’s proposal were described in an EIS. Over 20 individuals, agencies and organizations commented on the draft EIS. Responses to these comments are in a final EIS released with the ROD.

This WCS phase prioritizes for the next 10-15 years the activities to be undertaken to help maintain or restore habitat for species most in need of conservation in the forested community, and identifies where these actions are needed.
