San Gabriel River Ranger District Seasonal Campground Closures to Occur

Mt. Baldy Visitor Center is open Friday, Sat & Sunday. Mon-Thurs education classes are held at the location. IF they are between classes or a class is not scheduled the Visitor Center may open to the public and they will answer the phone.If you have a question, please leave a voicemail (VM) and their call will be returned as soon as possible by the volunteers at the Mt. Baldy Visitor Center. **Manker Flats (Mt. Baldy Area) is scheduled to close November 15, 2014, but will remain open until the water is turned off due to cold temperatures. This may occur at any time. **Crystal Lake Recreation Area is open for overnight camping in Loops A, B, C which consists of 36 sites. When the water is turned off to the sites, due to cold temperatures, the sites will be closed to vehicle access, but walk-in is still available. This may occur at any time.
Online California Campfire Permit
If you plan to use anything besides a Forest Service provided fire-ring (i.e. backpack stove) then a CA Campfire Permit is required. Learn More...
