Motor Vehicle Use Maps now available

As of June 30, 2010, the Lassen National Forest has released its first annual Motor Vehicle Use Map (or MVUM). This map culminates nearly 6 years of planning and defines our baseline system of public roads and motorized trails. Cross country travel by wheeled motorized vehicles off this transportations system is now permanently prohibited except by special use permit.  As this system evolves in coming years we intend to better accommodate various forms of motorized vehicle uses while protecting resources and improving management of a broad range of visitor activities. Please visit our Motorized Travel Management pages for more information.

National Public Lands Day

NPLD is the nation's largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands Americans enjoy. In 2009, 150,000 volunteers built trails and bridges, removed trash and invasive plants, planted trees and restored our water resources. Join us for the next NPLD on September 25, 2010.
