RIVER HAZARD WARNINGS
There are no reported river hazards at this time on the McKenzie River above Leaburg Dam.

ROAD CLOSURES AND DELAYS
Highway 242 (Old McKenzie Highway): Highway OPEN through to Sisters, OR to vehicles under 35 feet in length. This is a narrow, winding road; please use caution when traveling; this road is not recommended for large recreational vehicles.
Forest Road 19 (Aufderhiede Drive): OPEN. Road work activities may cause delays. Hauling and logging activity at spur 408.
Forest Service Road 2600-740; Forest Service Road 2600-743; Forest Service Road 2600-735; Forest Service Road 2600-738; Forest Service Road 2600-739: CLOSED to public from Highway 126 due to the Blue Top fire activity.
Forest Road 15-500 to Highway 126 (Blue River Reservoir Rd.): Heavy hauling, logging activity.
Forest Road 1993 mile post 3.8: A rockslide has closed the road to vehicle traffic.
Forest Road 480 (Road to Castle Rock Trailhead): Heaving logging and hauling activity may cause delays (should be no more than 20 minutes).
West King Road at Belknap Covered Bridge: CLOSED August 15-November 17. Use McKenzie River Drive to Hwy 126 to Cougar Dam Road to West King Road.

Trail Conditions Summary for McKenzie River Ranger District
This summary lists all the trails on the district with a brief condition description and date for the trails that we have worked on. We do not have condition information for every trail. Please see the Date Reported column for the most recent condition information we have on a particular trail.
McKenzie River Trail: A portion of the trail from Carmen Reservior to the Trail Bridge trailhead is CLOSED for public safety due to firefighters working to contain the Blue Top fire burning in the area around Blue Pool. Access from the McKenzie River Trail to Blue Pool is closed. The trail west of Trail Bridge campground and the Trail east of Carmen Reservoir are open. For more information, click here

CAMPGROUNDS AND DAY USE SITES

Campground and cabin reservations can be made through the National Recreation Reservation Service, by calling the toll-free number: 1-877-444-6777 or online to www.recreation.gov.
List of all campgrounds and day use sites in the McKenzie Santiam Travel Corridor with scheduled open/close dates, fees and key amenities.
Trail Bridge Campground: Intermittent Road Closures: Eugene Water and Electric Board will begin intermittently closing Forest Road 730, the only public access to Trail Bridge Campground, Smith Reservoir and Lake’s End Campground July 25 through September 23. For information, or to check updated road closure schedules, go to eweb.org/construction. The Blue Top fire has not affected Trail Bridge Campground and the area has not been impacted by smoke.
Terwilliger Hot Springs: Fees at Terwilliger Hot Springs are $6.00 per person for a day pass (can pay onsite) and $70 for an annual pass. Fee area includes hot springs, trail, lagoon, and parking.

CURRENT FIRE CONDITIONS
August 3, 2016
The Blue Top fire is now mapped at 21 acres and fire fighters are in the process of putting out hot spots. Firefighters are also assessing the area for weakened trees and burning root holes that could harm visitors to the popular Blue Pool area. Access from the McKenzie River Trail to Blue Pool is closed. The trail west of Trail Bridge campground and the Trail east of Carmen Reservoir are open. Read more
