Big Springs Gold Mine Project

Anova Metals USA LLC proposes surface and underground mining operations at the Big Springs Mining area.

Black Jack Project

The exploration project will utilize three drill sites from which multiple drill holes will be drilled. The use of existing roads and approximately 3,500 feet of road maintenance will be required.

Bordertown to California 120kV Transmission Line

Construct 120kV transmission line connecting the Bordertown and California substations.

Centennial - Seligman Mine Plan

Proposal to conduct mine and exploration operations in the disturbance footprint of previously mined Mt Hamilton area on NFS lands and private land. There would be about 426 ac of surface disturbance on FS lands and approx 26 acres on private lands.

Cold Springs Watershed and Stream Habitat Restoration Phase II

The Santa Rose Ranger District proposes to stabilize the headcuts present in the stream and restore water table levels in adjacent wet meadows with in the entire Cold Springs Pasture.

Currant-Ellison Watershed Restoration Project

The purpose of this project is to restore and maintain healthy and resilient watersheds, vegetation communities, wildlife habitats and to reduce fuels and wildfire risks particularly near private lands, structures and other critical resources.

East Walker Landscape Habitat Improvement Project

This project would improve, enhance, and protect bi-state sage grouse habitat, increase habitat connectivity, and reduce the risk of high intensity wildfire by reducing pinyon-juniper encroachment using mechanical methods.

Eastern Sierra ATV & UTV Jamboree

This is a ATV & UTV motorcycle touring type of ride on National Forest System lands. It will take place on approved motor vehicle routes as identified in the approved Motor Vehicle Use Maps

Ely Ranger District Wilderness Management Plan

USFS proposal to guide management of Ely Ranger District Wilderness. Project has been withdrawn by the Forest Service but may be initiated at a later date.

Ely Ranger District Wilderness Management Plan

Development of a district-wide wilderness management plan for the 9 Wilderness Areas on the Ely Ranger District, this will also amend the Humbold National Forest Land and Resource Managment Plan.

Figueroa Landscape Rock Acquisition

The proposal is to allow Figueroa Masonry to extract up to 500 tons of rock annually over a three-year period.

Firestone Antelope Zinc Mineral Exploration Project

1859 Nevada Inc. (Firestone Ventures) proposes to conduct exploration drilling at 10 sites on National Forest system land near Cabin Springs in the Monitor Range. Two of the sites are in an inventories Roadless Area.

Fort McDermitt Cooperative Domestic Horse Removal Project

The project will remove domestic horses from National Forest System land in cooperation with Fort McDermitt Paiute-Shoshone Tribal government.

Genoa Hazardous Fuels Reduction Project

Fuels reduction treatments will occur on approximately 1,262 acres of the 10,140 acre analysis area on National Forest Lands. The purpose of this project is to reduce fuel loading within the wild land urban interface.

Golden Brew Mineral Exploration Project

Tatmar Ventures proposes to conduct exploration drilling at 8 sites on National Forest System land near Porter, Brewer, and Knox Canyons of the Toiyabe Range. Six sites are within an Inventoried Roadless Area.

Greater Sage Grouse Bi-State Distinct Population Segment Forest Plan Amendment

The FS is proposing to amend the Toiyabe National Forest LRMP and the BLM is proposing to amend the affected RMPs. The DEIS Public Comment Period has been extended form 12/27/2013 to 01/17/2014.

Green Springs Exploration Project

The operator plans to conduct mineral exploration with a total of approximately 75 acres of surface disturbance within an approximate 801-acre Project Area, over a period of approximately five years.

Hickison Wild Burro Territory Appropriate Management Levels and Management Actions Project

Project proposes to establish appropriate wild burro herd management levels, authorize population management actions, and approve reconstruction of water developments.

Hope Valley Restoration

Implementation of streambank stabilization measures, such as vegetative toe protection, floodplain benching, armoring with rock, and willow planting, along a two mile reach of the West Fork Carson River in Hope Valley.

Humboldt - Toiyabe NF Wilderness Plans

Development of Wilderness Management Plans for Santa Rosa - Paradise Peak, Alta Toquima, Arc Dome and Table Mountain Wilderness areas and amendments to Humboldt national forest LRMP and Toiyabe National Forest LRMP.

Jarbidge Drilling Project

This project was added to the SOPA by mistake. It was a fictitous project designed as a training exercise and should not have been added to the SOPA website.

Keegan Driveway Access

Construction of private driveway using a 25 ft ROW occupying a total of 1.4 acres of public land. Following construction a Permit will be issued for a total of 1.4 acres.

Kingston Vegetation Restoration Project

Treatment of sage-steppe vegetation for wildlife habitat improvement and fuels reduction adjacent to the community of Kingston, NV.

Leviathan Peak Telecommunication Project

Construction of approximately 25'x30' building for communication equipment, approximately 12'x15' generator vault, (2) 1,000 gallon propane tanks, 120' self supporting tower, new distribution power line approximately 6 miles in length.

Leviathan-Loope Rangeland Project

Reauthorize grazing on the Leviathan and Campbell-Loope Sheep and Goat allotments and close 3 vacant cattle and horse allotments: Mud Lake, Barber, and Double Springs.

Long Valley Creek Fence Exclosure Project

This project proposes to construct an exclosure to protect a cultural site. The fence will be constructed to Forest Service standards. It will be a 4 strand fence. Project was originally part of the 2013 Range Rescission Implementation project.

Manzanita Fuels Reduction and Ecosystem Management Project

Reduce Fuels and enhance wildlife habitat on approximately 700 acres within the wildland urban interface in Alpine County Clifornia near the town of Woodfords. The project area is within the old Acron Fire of 1987.

McFarland Canyon Fence Project

Project entails construction of a fence to protect Wilderness character and sensitive habitats from damage by wild horses.

Monte Cristo Territory Management Plan pdate

The Forest Service will update the Monte Cristo Wild Horse and Burro Territory Management Plan to include strategies to maintain the herd into the future at AML and to compliment the BLM's management of the Pancake Wild Horse and Burro Complex.

Mountain Warfare Training Center Communications Infrastructure Upgrades Environmental Assesment

Completing Supplemental Analysis to authorize upgraded to two existing sites and one new site all three are on NFS lands

Mountain Warfare Training Center Operations Training Project

Under the Proposed Action a full complement of new vehicles, weapons systems/ordnance, engineer systems, aircraft, and equipment would be employed to augment the current set of training exercises.

Mt. Charleston Wilderness Management Plan

FS will prepare a Wilderness Management Plan for the Mt. Charleston Wilderness Area in cooperation with the Bureau of Land Management.

Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe - Atoma Area Project

The Forest Service proposes to amend the Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe special use permit to authorize commercial downhill skiing in the Atoma area and construction of a snowmaking water impoundment on the westernmost portion of the permit boundary

Northumberland Regional Mineral Expansion Project

Proponent plans to drill up to 46 sites within a 2,375 acre exploration project boundary. The total amount of surface disturbance associated with exploration roads, drill sites, and sumps would be approximately 13.5 acres.

Old Mill WUI Hazardous Fuels Treatment

Proposal to reduce vegetative conditions and interrupt continuous stands of fuel in the wildland-urban interface to create defensible space around communities and allow for safe fire suppression or evacuation.

Overland Pass Habitat Improvement Project

Joint project with Ely BLM District to treat approximately 40,000 acres of pinyon-juniper woodlands spread across multiple jurisdictions. Objectives are to eliminate hazardous concentrations of fuels and improve sagesteppe habitat.

Pavlak Mine Exploration

UMINES Company LLC is proposing to drill long holes underground from three drill stations. Surface use proposed is to place a compressor and generator near the mine portal. A camp trailer would be placed near the site for the workmen.

PMMR Clay Mine Expansion

Proponent proposes to expand the existing clay mine. One pit would be expanded and one new pit developed. clay would be trucked off forest to a rail siding in Wabuska.

Quantum Jarbidge Exploration Project

Quantum Minerals proposes to drill approx. 40 exploration drill holes from 10-12 drill sites, construct approx. 4000 feet of new road and excavate up to 500 feet of exploration trenching for a total of approx. 3 acres of disturbance.

RAC Hot Creek Range Charcoal Kiln Stabilization

Fence in five sets of charcoal kilns and stabilize one intact kiln.

RAC Interpretive Development for Three Archaeology Sites on the Austin/Tonopah Ranger District

Repair and maintenance at three recreation sites - Toquima Cave, Bald Mtn. Wash Petroglyphs, and Hot Creek Charcoal Kilns. Propject analysis will be completed. It shows as cancelled here because publishing in the SOPA is not required.

Raleigh Heights Rare Plant Habitat Restoration Project

The project will be removed from the SOPA because a Decision Memo is not needed to document the project decision. Restoration of the habitat for Webber ivesia will include placing rock along the edge of existing roads to stop off road travel.

Rattlesnake Canyon Headcut Stabilization Project

Stabilize three headcuts on Rattlesnake Canyon; replace culvert with low-water crossing; realign road (<500 feet). Project withdrawn by Forest Service.

Reese River Diversion Stabilization Project

This project would replace an existing non-functional diversion structure with a new structure that will function as a diversion for irrigation. The proposal would also close an existing access road that enters the Arc Dome Wilderness.

Sierra Trail Dogs 250 Dual Sport

This is a motorcyle touring type of ride on National Forest System Lands. It will take place on approved motor vehicle routes as identified in the approved Motor Vehicle Use Maps

Spring Mountains Wild Horse & Burro Complex Project

Analyze appropriate managment levels and horse gathers on the Spring Mountains NRA and the Southern NV BLM District.

Swauger Creek Fuels Reduction Project

The purpose for this project is to restore stand health, reduce wildfire severity, promote under story regeneration in sage-steppe, mountain shrub, mixed conifer, and aspen communities and imrpove wildlife habitat and help create defensiable space.

Virginia Lake Pack Outfit and Leavitt Meadows Pack Station Permit Renewals

USFS proposal to issue new term permit to replace expired permits for both Virginia Lake Pack Outfit and Leavitt Meadows Pack Station Permits. Project on hold while Forest Service conducts a needs assessment.

Ward Mt Interagency Landscape Restoration and Fuels Reduction Project

Reduce the ecological departure from the reference conditions by reducing Fire Regime Condition Class (FRCC) and reduce the threat of wildfire to City of Ely and surrounding area, and improve wildlife habitat. Using a variety of treatment methods.

Western Exploration's Wood Gulch Exploration

Multi-year exploration using existing roads and constructing new over a ten year duration. Project will be phased with proposed phase 1 road construction of .83 miles and surface disturbance of 2.5 acres. Total of 100 acres over plan duration.

Wood Gulch Mineral Exploration Project

Western Exploration is proposing a 10-year phased exploration project with an estimate of 100 acres of disturbance. Concurrent reclamation will be utilized when feasible to limit the amount of surface disturbance present at any one time.
