Status of Balances of Appropriation
Congressional request: Relating to a Congressional Directive in H. R. 83, Public Law 113-235, Status of Balances of Appropriations, SEC. 417. The Department of the Interior, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Forest Service, and the Indian Health Service shall provide the Committees on Appropriations of the House of Representatives and Senate quarterly reports on the status of balances of appropriations including all uncommitted, committed, and unobligated funds in each program and activity.

Reprogramming Actions
Congressional request: Relating to a Congressional Directive in the Explanatory Statement: Division F – Department of the Interior, Environment, and related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2015, H. R. 5171, Reprogramming Guidelines, Quarterly Reports; Congress requires the Forest Service to submit quarterly reports for all reprogrammings between budget activities, budget line-items, program areas, or the more detailed activity levels within 60 days of the end of each quarter.

July Federal Land Assistance, Management and Enhancement (FLAME) Act Suppression Expenditures for Interior and Agriculture Agencies
Congressional request: Relating to a Congressional Directive in H. R. 2996, Public Law 111-88. Congress requests the Forest Service to provide an estimate of anticipated wildfire suppression costs to improve budgeting and funding during the first weeks of March, May and July of each year, as well as during the first weeks of September of each year where appropriations for the Department of the Interior and the Forest Service have not been passed for the coming fiscal year by September 1.

Philadelphia Peak Radio Repeater in the Green Mountain National Forest

Landscape Scale Restoration

Collaborative Forest Landscape Restoration (CFLR)
Congressional request: Relating to a Congressional Directive in the FY 2015 Interior and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, Public Law 113-235. The Forest Service is directed to report to the Committee within 90 days of enactment of this Act on the implementation of CFLR funded projects and the outcomes of those projects to date. The report should include performance measures as described in the CFLR 2011 Annual Report accomplishment form available on the Forest Service’s website.

Invasive Species
Congressional request: Relating to a Congressional Directive in House Report 113-551, Invasive Species. The Committee is concerned about the threat of invasive forest pests and understands that millions of acres of our nation’s forests are at risk of being overtaken by these pests. The Forest Service is in a unique position to mitigate this threat. The Committee therefore directs the Forest Service to provide the Committees on Appropriations with a report, detailing its work to eradicate and/or mitigate this threat.
