Campground Camping
Beginning September 14, 2020, all Chugach National Forest campgrounds will only be available on a first come, first served basis. After September 13, 2020 Chugach National Forest campground reservations on the www.recreation.gov website will end for the 2020 season. Fees will continue to be charged and services will be available, but all campgrounds will be first come, first served until the end of the season on September 30, 2020. Recreation.gov reservations will resume in 2021.
The Chugach National Forest has just the campsite you're looking for from bustling and busy with activity to solitary and wooded. After the summer season ends, there are no fees or services, but gates to Forest Service Campground will remain open as long as weather allows.
Reservations are made though Recreation.gov (1-877-444-6777) and recommended for summer camping. Fees are charged during the summer season. Reservations may be made up to180 days prior to your desired arrival date in the summer season (Memorial Day through Labor Day in September). Not all of our campgrounds take reservations and all campgrounds have a few first-come first serve campsites.
