Developed camping—Developed campgrounds provide a safe, monitored area for recreating among other users. Please follow these basic rules:
- camping in a developed campground shall be limited to a period of not to exceed 14 days
- a new campsite may not be re-established within 1 mile of the vacated campsite for a period of 7 days
- at least one person must occupy a camping area during the first night after camping equipment has been set up, unless permission has otherwise been granted by the Forest Ranger
- entering or remaining in a campground between the hours of 10pm and 6am is prohibited except for the persons already occupying the campsite
- a site shall not be occupied by a group of more than five people (no more than 10 for double sites) or those other than immediate family
- group sites are also available for larger parties as posted
- parking or leaving a vehicle in violation of posted signs is prohibited
- do not leave more than two motorized vehicles (i.e. passenger vehicles and motor homes) per single campsite
- no public nudity
- no possessing or operating a motorboat powered by internal combustion engines on lakes where prohibited
- no launching, storing or leaving a boat or raft on or near lakes where it is posted as prohibited
- no operating motorboats in designated swimming areas
- no food or drink on developed beach areas
- no swimming in areas where it is prohibited

Blue Ridge Ranger District
The Blue Ridge Ranger District is the central part of the Chattahoochee National Forest. The district office is on the north side of US Highway 76, 1.5 miles west of the intersection of US 76 and US 19 in the town of Blairesville, GA.

Chattooga River District
The Chattooga River Ranger District covers 261,035 acres in the northeast part of Georgia. Terrain ranges from the Piedmont in the southern part of the district to Georgia's second highest mountain, Rabun Bald at 4,696 feet above sea level. To the east is the Chattooga Wild and Scenic River. In the central part of the district are Lake Burton, Seed Lake, and Lake Rabun where you'll find the Rabun Beach Campground. In the western part of the district are the headwaters of the Chattahoochee River and the Upper Chattahoochee River Campground. The Appalachian National Scenic Trail passes through the district. There are many waterfalls across the district including the twin waterfalls of Anna Ruby Falls Scenic Area. Conasauga Ranger District
The Conasauga Ranger District covers the western third of the Chattahoochee National Forest. A diverse set of landscapes make up the Conasauga district, from the ridges and valleys west of Interstate 75 to the Cohutta Mountains northeast of Chatsworh, GA.
As you'll find in the links below, this part of the forest offers some of the best scenery and outdoor recreational activities in north Georgia.

Lake Conasauga
This beautiful 19-acre spring-fed lake resting near Grassy Mountain is the highest lake in Georgia. Families will enjoy camping in this quiet, rustic setting which offers cool summertime temperatures. Whether hiking to the Songbird Management area or to Grassy Mountain tower, fishing, or swimming, you will revel in this area rich in plants, birds and wildlife. Note: cell service is limited due to remoteness.

The Pocket Recreation Area
The Pocket recreation area in northwest Georgia is named for lying in a low area surrounded by the steep ridges of Horn and Mill Mountains, and is the former site of Civilian Conservation Corps Camp F-16. Families camping here can enjoy the vibrant spring colors of mountain laurel as well as the brilliant fall color mix provided by mixed hardwoods.

Oconee Ranger District
Approximately 60 miles southeast of Atlanta, the Oconee National Forest is an easy drive and has much to offer those in the heart of the state. Boasting group campsites, the largest lake in the state, and recreational opportunities galore, the Oconee District is one not to miss.

The swimming area at Lake Sinclair is a great summer time get away.
